The American Association of University Women advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.
AAUW will be a powerful advocate and visible leader in equity and education through research, philanthropy, and measurable change in critical areas impacting the lives of women and girls.

AAUW of Bend was founded in 1931. We currently have approximately 60 members.

In July 2005, AAUW members voted to exand their membership to include graduates holding an associate or equivalent degree.
2011-12 Goals
Bend AAUW will . . .
Increase community involvement and visibility by
1. Having a presence at COCC/OSU Cascades
2. Celebrating Woman Suffrage
3. Continuing Novel Idea, if novel fits our mission
4. Publicizing our scholarships and recipients
5. Continuing to seek opportunities for group participation in community events i.e. walks, runs, Novel Idea
a. Investigate AAUW t-shirts (or other appropriate wearable) for visibility
Increase membership numbers including youth by
1. Finding out from our members how they get their news
2. Finding out what younger members & potential members want
3. More “one shot” opportunities for participation
4. Developing new interest groups
5. Encouraging community attendance at general meetings
6. Continuing to focus on the interests of “our” members
